Barry and Kathy are here!
They came out for James' graduation, and to visit with family and friends. I'll post more pictures of them later!

Sasha likes hiding behind this mirror. She peeks her head out and says "boo"

We were trying to get another picture of her sticking her head out. So we asked her where Daddy was, but instead of sticking her head out, she stuck her hand out and pointed to him!

She enjoys running up and down the hall!

We recently started learning more about Montessori. I just finished reading the book 'Montessori from the Start' which gave me a good idea of what it's all about. Basically, the Montessori method allows children to become intependent at an early age and gives them "freedom with responsibility". It emphasizes the need that children have to be surrounded by order, simplicity, and beauty. It has designed very specific toys for every age, and which fulfill very specific needs. We're investigating it further and trying to make the toys ourselves (some of them at least) and Sasha seems to like it so far.
Here are couple of pictures of her doing one of the montessori activities: scooping up uncooked beans from one container and putting them in another.

These pix of Sasha are just adorabaloha! NB: My sis, Lisa Moore Nardini in Rome worked years ago as a Montessori teacher after studying the system in Perugia, & before raising her three kids. I'll get you her email. Love, D
