Some childhood pictures

Sasha got into these pictures and tried to eat them! I decided it would be a good idea to scan them.
The first is of my family. From left to right (Dad, Jere, holding my brother David, me, brother Colin, sister Jaleh, and my beautiful Mother, Julie)

Carolina and Patrik

Our beautiful, wonderful, sweet, intelligent and now pregnant! friend, Caroline, is here! We're SOOO happy to see her and to finally meet her husband Patrik. He is such a sweet, loving guy and they make a beautiful couple. They will be staying with us for about a week while they figure out the next step in their lives (we're keeping our fingers crossed that they decide to stay in Albuquerque - although there's a whole other group including Caroline's Mom, Kitty, who are keeping theirs crossed for them to stay in LA!!) : )

Here she is with her big belly which I can't stop touching and looking at in awe...Pregnancy is an awesome experience!
Caroline has always been so maternal. She'll be a wonderful mother.

Our friends Alfred and Millie came over last night. We played a game called Enlighten. It's kind of like Trivial Pursuit, only it's questions about the world religions. As baha'is we believe that all the major religions come from one and the same God and therefore the essence of all religions is one. It is one unfolding, progressive revelation from God. As believers of all religions this was a good game to test our knowledge!
I only got a shot of the guys who were laughing hysterically at something!

She has learned how to wave : )

When we say Hi or Hola (I speak to her only in Spanish), Sasha's little hand waves up and down or side to side, or sometimes in a circular motion!

This was taken in Los Alamos with the Pyburn family. Here are several of Sasha's little cousins!

Colorado

We're back from our trip to Colorado. It was a long but beautiful drive up there. We stayed with one of James' firends, Kenny, who lives in Broomfield.
We went on a few hikes to the Boulder Flatirons. We also went to Boulder falls which is shone in this first picture, and we even went to a baseball game! (Colorado Rockies vs. Arizona Diamondbacks) We were thinking that we would have to leave after the first few innings because Sasha was tired, but she slept through the first seven innings and then woke up in the best mood! It was a very successful night! No rain, no fussy babies, and the Rockies won! : )

Thanks again to Kenny for being such a wonderful host! We had a great time!

For now...

We're heading off to Boulder, Colorado for a few days. We're going to visit some of James' friends from when he lived there and hike some of his favorite mountains! : )
For now we'll leave you with these two pics of Sasha.

Her innocent, "I didn't do it" side

Her mischievous side! : )

First Steps!

Sasha has taken her first steps! James and I were so amazed since she just turned eight months a few days ago! We've mostly been encouraging her to get used to crawling, but today, she crawled over to the corner of the wall, pulled herself up, and took about three steps over to where I was sitting on the floor! So James and I have been following her cues. If it seems like she wants to try again, we sit across from each other and let her go back and forth. She's able to take between three and ten steps until she loses her balance! : )
Here are three pictures as she walked (this was actually a video but it's not possible to upload it, so we took still pictures).
